Cops confiscate BMW after spotting homemade cardboard number plates

Police seized a BMW after officers spotted it was displaying homemade cardboard number plates.

Officers said the vehicle was not insured besides having the recyclable registration plates.

Kent Police said the owner of the dark blue BMW had "a long walk home" to north London after the vehicle was confiscated after being pulled over by patrolling cops in Bean, at about 9.40pm on Wednesday.

Officers described how cardboard number plates would "definitely generate police attention" reports BirminghamLive.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "A patrol from Kent Police’s Roads Policing Unit stopped a car travelling in Bean Lane due to it being uninsured.

"The car was subsequently seized and the driver has been reported for road traffic offences."
