Cops arrest seven after officers pelted with objects thrown from window

Police have arrested seven people after objects were hurled at officers out of a window.

East Lothian Police said they were responding to reports of a disturbance inside a flat, but instead of talking to the officers, the people inside threw things at them damaging their police car.

In a statement this morning (Saturday, June 20) the force said its officers ended up arresting seven people at the incident in Haddington.

The police statement read: "About 10.30pm on Friday 19th June, Police were called to a disturbance at an address in the High Street, Haddington.

"The occupants within initially refused to engage with officers and items were thrown towards them from a window resulting in damage to a police car.

"The incident was brought to a conclusion and 7 persons within were arrested and charged with various disorder offences."
