A man was seriously assaulted in Shotts earlier this week.
The 34-year-old sustained serious injuries during the attack on Tulloch Road at around 6pm on Tuesday, October 15.
He was rushed to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.
A man was arrested in connection with this incident and has been released pending further enquiries.
Cops are now appealing for witnesses and urging anyone with any information to come forward.
PC Heather McDonald, from Motherwell Police Station, said: “As part of our ongoing enquiries I would ask anyone who either witnessed this incident, or has further information, to get in touch.
“You can do that by contacting Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3039 of 15 October. Alternatively, you can report information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
