Cookstown road crash claims life of man in his 60s

A man in his 60s has died following a three-vehicle road traffic collision in Co Tyrone.

The collision involving a blue Ford Ka, red Toyota Yaris and a lorry happened on the Cookstown Road, Dungannon shortly after 8.20pm on Tuesday evening, May 24.

The driver of the Ford Ka was treated at the scene but sadly died from his injuries.

Police have issued an appeal for anyone with information to get in touch.

Seargent Amanda McIvor has appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage which could assist officers in their investigation is asked to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Sprucefield on 101, quoting reference 1474 of 24/5/22.

The Cookstown Road remains closed this morning whilst enquiries into the collision are ongoing. Diversons are in place at Agharan Cross and Tullycullion Road.
