Conor McGregor UFC News: Notorious will quit drinking Proper 12 whiskey ahead of fight return

Conor McGregor will give up drinking his famous Proper 12 whiskey in the lead up to his comeback fight next January.

The Irishman, 31, announced today in Moscow that he will return to the UFC octagon in January of next year, and he plans a comeback 'season' which includes rematches with Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov .

Speaking at a press conference for his involvement with online bookmaker PariMatch, The Notorious said: "I will have no injuries, I will have no alcohol, I will have no outside influences, I will be fully focused.

"That is exactly what the people deserve.”

The Irishman revealed that he will initially fight an as yet unnamed opponent on January 18th next year, and then proceed to the winner of the 'BMF title' fight between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal next month.

And he will finish the 'season' with a highly-anticipated rematch against Khabib, which McGregor wants to take place in Moscow.

“Obviously I have history with Nate Diaz, we are set to make the trilogy bout, we will see how it goes, I feel Nate will get the better of that one.

“Then I will seek the Moscow bout and it will be against the winner of Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“We want this bout in Moscow, the people in Russia deserve this bout to take place and the people of the world deserve this bout to take place.

“This is an inevitable rematch."
