Conor McGregor UFC News: Notorious and Dee Devlin jet off to Italy amid 'pub punch' controversy

Conor McGregor and girlfriend Dee Devlin have jetted off to Italy amid the UFC star's 'pub punch' controversy.

The Notorious recently found himself in hot water after a video of him allegedly punching a man at a Dublin bar emerged.

The couple were pictured in the Amalfi Coast on Sunday afternoon sunbathing and piling on the PDA while taking in the sights.

And pictures taken showed that the Notorious even managed to get a workout in, lifting small weights while catching some rays.

McGregor also posed for a selfie with chefs at the Lo Smeraldino restaurant, with chef Gennaro Balzano posting a photo to Instagram and the joking caption: "With our bodyguard!"

The trip comes at a difficult time for the Irish UFC star, who last week apologised over the alleged incident at the Marble Arch Pub in Drimnagh.

He said:  "That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without it having to end the way it did.

"I tried to make amends and I made amends back then - it still, that doesn't even matter.

"I was in the wrong. I must come here before you and take accountability and take responsibility. I owe it to the people that have been supporting me. I owe it to my mother, my father, my family. I owe it to the people who trained me in martial arts.

"That's not who I am, that's not the reason why I got into martial arts or studying combat sports. The reason why I got into it was to defend against that type of scenario.

"To see that, although (it was) months ago and I have been making steps and continuously making steps to do better and be better - to see it is like a dagger into my heart as a young martial artist.

"I'm just here to own up to that and move on, carry on and face what's coming."
