Conor McGregor tells fighters to sing as they train in odd TUF footage

Conor McGregor encouraged his fighters to sing as they trained while preparing for this week's round of bouts on The Ultimate Fighter in Las Vegas.

The Irishman has been finding life difficult in the TUF house so far, with his two fighters losing by first round knockout heading into this week. But it didn't deter him as footage showed the team training together, with McGregor seeming in great form as he donned headgear and got in amongst it with his fighters.

But one moment stuck out, when the legendary former two-weight world champion telling fighters that they should be enjoying their training as they are doing what they love. He broke out into song, before declaring that they should all be singing in their heads while working out.

After serenading his team with a rendition of the renowned church song "Oh Happy Day", McGregor told his fighters: "Sing a song in your head lads, we're doing what we f***ing love here, we're here so put a smile on your face, keep your wits about you and go in and have fun. God Bless."

When his fighter Aaron McKenzie, who this week was facing off with Austin Hubbard, he suffered a minor injury after being kicked in the body as the group were sparring. McGregor let the American in on a mental technique that he uses in which he focuses the pain of an area into his hand, and releases the ailment.

"Contain yourself, it ain't nothing," McGregor assured his fighter. "If you feel pain, here's what you can do, I'm telling you. Put your hand where the pain is, where is it? Put it there and close your eyes, feel where the pain is, put your hand right on the pain, feel yourself grabbing it out of there and it going literally [out of your body].

"You can feel it there [in your fist], it's no longer where it was you can actually feel the pain there and you need to really, really, really feel it. Then just get f***ing rid of it. That can be anywhere on the body, anywhere, as many times in the day.

"Maybe 'ah there's a little bit left' so you have to go back and do it again. Really feel yourself taking the pain out of wherever the pain is and condensing it into a fist like a little pebble and then f*** the pebble into the ocean because there are plenty more fish in the sea."

McGregor's advice wasn't enough for McKenzie to pick up a victory in his fight, however, as the American was brutalised and sent to hospital by Hubbard over two rounds. The bout went to the scorecards, but was completely dominant for Michael Chandler's fighter, who brought the score total for the season to 3-0 in favour of the UFC veterans.
