Congressman Crenshaw supports strong action against Iran's proxies, backs impeachment

Dan Crenshaw is an American politician and former United States Navy SEAL officer

In recent discussions regarding the challenges posed by Iran, Congressman Dan Crenshaw of Texas, a former Navy SEAL and decorated veteran, shared his insights on Iran's involvement with various affiliated groups. Crenshaw highlighted Iran's history of funding, equipping, and training these groups, such as the IRGC and Quds Force, which specialize in surrogate warfare. He emphasized that Iran bears direct responsibility for their actions against the United States.

When asked about potential options for deterring Iran and its proxies, Crenshaw stated that a list of options is typically provided by the Department of Defense to the President. These options come with varying risks, and it is the President's prerogative to choose the most acceptable course of action. While Crenshaw could not disclose the specific options or his opinion on them, he stressed the importance of demonstrating strength to send a message of deterrence. According to Crenshaw, deterrence ultimately leads to peace, even though some may feel uncomfortable with the use of strength.

Regarding the effectiveness of targeting Iran directly to deter further actions, Congressman Crenshaw asserted that there are numerous options available, and hitting inside Iran should not be dismissed based on fear of starting a world war. He emphasized that Iran is a lesser power compared to the United States, and their tough rhetoric does not change the reality of their capabilities. Crenshaw believes that Iran needs to understand America's willingness to use its powerful capabilities in response to continued attacks.

The conversation then turned to the challenge of addressing various groups affiliating with Iran, including the Islamic resistance in Iraq and Houthi rebels. Crenshaw acknowledged the need to separate and address these groups individually, leveraging intelligence and actively targeting them. While Crenshaw did not provide specific tactics, he highlighted the importance of disrupting their operations. He also mentioned that causing Iran to believe the U.S. is capable of more significant actions could potentially discourage retaliation.

Shifting gears, Congressman Crenshaw expressed support for potential impeachment efforts against Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas. He highlighted the administration's alleged violation of their oath of office by not executing the laws of the land, particularly with regards to paroling authorities. Crenshaw emphasized the need for action and policy changes, calling for greater accountability within the administration.

Congressman Crenshaw concluded the discussion by expressing his dedication to serving his country and advocating for policy changes to address pressing issues such as border security. Crenshaw believes that winning elections and implementing effective border policies will ultimately bring about the necessary changes.
