Hyderabad: The Congress think tank is actively considering fielding its NSUI state president Balmoori Venkat from Huzurabad Assembly constituency.
The 28-year NSUI leader is a Velama, a community chief minister K Chandrasekhar belongs to. Venkat has completed his MBBS and is presently doing an internship. The party is of the view that the youngster, who had participated in the Telangana statehood movement, would be the right choice to take on TRS student leader Gellu Srinivas Yadav in the bypoll.
Though former minister Konda Surekha, farmer-leader Pathi Krishna Reddy and district Youth Congress vice-president Saini Ravi Kumar, a Munnuru Kapu from BC community too are in the race for by-poll ticket, top leaders of the party have consulted Venkat to know whether he was interested to contest the bypoll.
