'Congress hid history of country’, says BJP Haryana chief

YAMUNANAGAR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) carried out Shaheed Samman Tiranga Yatra (tricolour rally to honour martyrs) in Jagadhri constituency of Yamunanagar district on Friday.

The BJP’s rally was attended by its Haryana chief OP Dhankar and it was organised by Haryana education, forest and tourism minister Kanwar Pal, who is also MLA Jagadhri.

A large number of people gathered for the BJP’s rally who were carrying out national flags in their hands and travelled for about 50 kilometres in Jagadhri constituency.

The BJP’s Tiranga Yatra started from Pratap Nagar and after passing through Chhachhrauli, Jagadhri, Buria, it ended in Pratap Nagar.

While addressing the gathering during the Tiranga Yatra, OP Dhankar said the Congress always hid the true history.

"Thousands of people sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country (India). On December 23, 1943, Andaman Nicobar Islands were liberated and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose hoisted the Indian flag for the first time but sadly, the youths do not remember this date. About 26,000 troops of Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army) sacrificed their lives but there has been no mention of them. The story of every single martyr will be brought to the public domain by the BJP government", said OP Dhankar.

"Congress has hidden very important dates related to the history of country", said Dhankar.

Dhankar said that to give respect to the martyrs, the Tiranga Yatras are being carried out throughout Haryana and these will continue until all 90 constituencies are covered.

Dhankar claimed that, "Farmers, soldiers, traders, labourers and people from every section of the society are joining the Tiranga Yatra in large numbers."

On the other side, the farmers who have been protesting against the BJP events following the call of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha against the Centre government’s three farm laws refrained from opposing the Tiranga Yatra.
