Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Barcelona midfielder Marcus McGuane on a permanent contract.
The Reds have been working on a move for the youngster for some time, with a switch proving to be a complicated one due to the player having been on loan at Dutch side Telstar.
But he has finally put pen to paper and agreed a deal at the City Ground until 2022.
Highly-rated, McGuane is seen as one for the future at Forest, and will initially link up with Chris Cohen’s Under-23s side.
The 21-year-old started out at Premier League giants Arsenal, where he came up through the ranks before heading to Spain in 2018 to link up with Barca’s B team.
Forest have recently signed up several up-and-coming youngsters, with 17-year-old defender Morgan Sadler penning his first professional contract until 2022 also.
Attacker Adrian Galliani made the move earlier this month and striker Julian Larsson was recruited on deadline day.
