Concerns growing for pensioner walking the Highlands who has been missing for three weeks

Concerns are growing for a missing pensioner who has been missing for nearly three weeks after setting off on a walking tour of the Highlands.

Officers are appealing for information to trace Gyln Smith, from Cambridgeshire, who was last seen in the Oykel Bridge area of Sutherland on Sunday, 24 April.

The 76-year-old hasn’t been in contact with family since and they are becoming increasingly concerned.

He also failed to meet with a group of friends for a planned trip.

Glyn is described as white, 5ft 6in tall and of slim build. When he was last seen it’s believed he was wearing outdoor type clothing and carrying a rucksack.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Glyn hasn’t been in contact with family since and they are becoming increasingly concerned. He also failed to meet with a group of friends for a planned trip.

"Anyone who thinks they may have seen Glyn since Sunday, 24 April, 2022 is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 2232 of 12 May, 2022."
