Concerns growing for missing Scots man last seen two days ago

Concerns are growing for a missing Scots man last seen on Wednesday.

John Dunnigan, 40, has been reported missing from the Wishaw area but may have travelled to Dundee.

Around 11am on Wednesday John called his family to say he was heading back to Overton from Wishaw and would arrive around 3pm, but he never turned up.

He was then reported missing to police on Thursday.

He is described as being 5ft9, thin, with short brown hair which is greying, and grey facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a black jumper with Henleys written on it, black jogging bottoms and a black hat.

Inspector Hugh Burns from Motherwell Police Station said: “John has never gone missing before and it is extremely out of character for him not to be in contact with his family for any length of time.

“They are becoming extremely worried about him and I am appealing to anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.

“It is possible John may have travelled to the Dundee area, where he is from originally, and I would urge people there to keep a look out for him a report any sightings to police.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2551 of Thursday, 15 April, 2021.”
