Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has reportedly been offered a chance to double his money with a move to China.
The 59-year-old, according to the Times, has been approached by Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang and offered £12 million to take over.
Benitez's contract at Newcastle runs out on June 30th, and a stalemate has emerged between the Spaniard and the United hierarchy.
Managing director Lee Charnley and owner Mike Ashley met Benitez after the season's finale against Fulham, and it is understood an offer was presented to the former Liverpool manager.
Yet with just days remaining on his current deal, there has been no hint of a positive outcome.
The claims of an offer from China is no surprise, Benitez has been linked to several well-paid jobs in the country, and the Middle East but would prefer to stay closer to his family in Liverpool.
However, as his options narrow, Newcastle should not underestimate Benitez's desire to be in a job come the season kick-off.
Links to Roma, Juventus, and Chelsea have also emerged but the Italian clubs have appointed other managers respectively while Benitez's relationship with fans at Stamford Bridge would suggest a return to the Blues would be unlikely.
