Prince Harry and Meghan Markle don’t have it easy. It seems like most people have an opinion on the former royal couple whether they know them or not. In this case a former friend of the Duchess of Sussex has given her two cents on Harry and Meghan’s decision to ditch the royal life in favor of starting over in California.
Lizzie Cundy, a TV star and socialite who became friends with Meghan Markle prior to her relationship with Harry back in 2013, has spoken out against her former friend. Speaking to GB News she claimed “They whinge, they moan, they criticise and they are not very grateful. They had it all.” While the couple are apparently big complainers, Cundy is evidently more of a glass half full kind of person.
Harry and Meghan are ‘complete failures’
Cundy really didn’t hold back when it came to the Sussexes. She spoke about their absence at the Trooping of the Colour, an event to celebrate the King’s birthday. While most of the royals were in attendance, Harry and Meghan have distanced themselves from the U.K. royals for a while now. To the surprise of no one, they were not there although they were still on people’s minds.
“Watching Trooping the Colour today, I get the sense they really missed out. They really blew it.”
Cundy went on to criticize the couple for squandering their chance and also failing to achieve anything of note in the time since stepping away from their royal duties. “The only thing they are good at is spending money,” she told news host Nana Akua.
While harsh, Cundy isn’t entirely wrong. The Sussexes tanked their Netflix deal which was worth $100 million. They also sank their Spotify deal which was worth $20 million. It seems in the five years since leaving for the U.S. the pair haven’t seen much success.
How does Cundy know the Duchess?
The socialite explained that she had a personal connection with Markle prior to her romance with Harry. She claimed, “I was a dating service for Meghan Markle” however Meghan apparently “ghosted” her after she began her relationship with Harry.
“She didn’t answer me back when she got with Prince Harry. I didn’t work for her again and I can understand why people are leaving her.”
It seems Cundy is suggesting she helped Meghan with her romantic life. While Cundy may have thought they were friends it seems the Duchess may not have been on the same page. If Cundy is to be believed then the Princess to be discarded her as soon as she entered a relationship with Prince Harry.
