Company donates camp beds for Edinburgh ICU staff 'to get a rest' during coronavirus outbreak

A company has been praised for donating camp beds to intensive care units for hard-working NHS staff.

An Anesthetics Trainee, Angus Turnbull, described the donations, from Carr's Flour, as a "blessing" for workers on the frontline.

With already gruelling shifts on COVID-19 wards only expected to get tougher as the pandemic reaches its peak, the camp beds will provide much-needed rest bite for ICU staff.

Angus said: "A huge thanks to the kind Carr's Flour who have donated camp beds to the intensive care units at NHS Fife Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy and also in Edinburgh's NHS Lothian.

"They will be a blessing to the medical and nursing staff to get a rest during coronavirus outbreak."

Edinburgh Live has reached out to Carrs Flour for comment.
