Commonwealth medal hero Lachie to open new Levengrove running route

Residents in Dumbarton and the Vale can meet a local hero at the launch of a new campaign at Levengrove Park.

Lachie Stewart, who took gold in the 10,000m at the 1970 Common-wealth Games in Edinburgh, will help to launch the new Walk, Jog, Run project at the renovated Levenside venue.

Signs mapping out a mile-long route around the park have been installed for those looking to complete the daily mile challenge and a 5km route towards Havoc and back has also been mapped out.

Anyone can book a place at the event, which starts at 11am on Wednesday, January 29, by searching Levengrove Park on Eventbrite.co.uk .
