Columbia University Students Stand Up Against Campus Unrest

Pro-Israel students take part in a protest in support of Israel amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, at Columbia University in New York City

Two Columbia University students recently made headlines for their brave attempt to thwart a break-in at Hamilton Hall on campus by anti-Israel protesters. Charles Beck and Rory Wilson shared their experience on 'The Ingraham Angle,' revealing that they felt compelled to take a stand against the unruly behavior.

The incident unfolded as Beck was captured on video being confronted by masked demonstrators while standing with Wilson on the steps of Hamilton Hall. The protesters had besieged the building, even going as far as occupying it and hoisting a pizza to a higher floor at one point.

In the face of chants and threats from the demonstrators, Beck and Wilson stood their ground, expressing their disapproval of the chaos and destruction of university property. Beck emphasized the importance of upholding civil discourse and condemned the violent tactics employed by the protesters.

Despite the risks involved, Beck's friend advised him to step back to ensure his safety, fearing that the crowd could cause serious harm. Beck's primary concern, however, was to challenge the mob mentality and show that there were students willing to stand up against such behavior on campus.

During the confrontation, the students also encountered a well-known protester, Lisa Fithian, who claimed to be on campus to prevent violence and maintain order. Beck and Wilson asserted their right to counter-protest and criticized the agitators for attempting to take control of Hamilton Hall and disrupt university activities.

Wilson mentioned encountering other suspicious individuals outside campus, including masked individuals observed burglarizing a residence hall. The presence of such individuals raised concerns about the safety and security of the campus community.

The students' actions have sparked a conversation about the importance of peaceful protest and the need to uphold respect and order in academic settings. Their courage in standing up to mob rule serves as a reminder of the power of individual voices in promoting positive change.
