Colts’ snap counts in Week 1 vs. Chargers

The Indianapolis Colts (0-1) fell victim to an overtime loss on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers (1-0) at Dignity Health Sports Park to open the 2019 regular season.

Now that the rosters have been reduced to 53 players, the snap counts on both sides of the ball will mean a little bit more than they do in the preseason.

Here’s a look at the offensive snap counts from the Week 1 loss:

Not many surprises here. The starting offensive line and quarterback Jacoby Brissett were the ones to play every single snap. Tight ends Jack Doyle and Eric Ebron split the snaps with the former leading the way, as expected.

With wide receiver Devin Funchess now out for a while with a broken collarbone, there will be a role opened up for Chester Rogers, Zach Pascal, Deon Cain and Parris Campbell.

Here’s a look at the defensive and special teams snaps:

Cornerbacks Pierre Desir and Kenny Moore played 100% of the snaps while linebacker Darius Leonard would have had he not gotten the wind knocked out of him in the second half, forcing him to miss a play.

At defensive end, Al-Quadin Muhammad saw the most snaps in Jabaal Sheard’s absence. Rookie Ben Banogu and second-year pass rusher Kemoko Turay also saw some time.

Rookie cornerback Rock Ya-Sin is firmly entrenched as the third defensive back in the room ahead of Quincy Wilson.
