Colts lose to Browns, 21-18, in preseason Week 2

The Indianapolis Colts were defeated by the Cleveland Browns, 21-18, in the preseason game on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The first-team offense under quarterback Jacoby Brissett was solid. He finished a smooth day completing 8-of-10 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown pass went to tight end Eric Ebron on a corner route.

The defensive side of the ball featured a steady plate of pressure from the defensive line. Defensive end Kemoko Turay appeared to be in the backfield often during his first quarter of play.

Despite getting down an early deficit, the Colts showed some life with the second and third teams. There were notable performances from quarterbacks Phillip Walker and Chad Kelly while tight end Hale Hentges made some plays as well.

Player of the Game: WR Deon Cain

We finally got to see the potential with Cain. He showed off some solid route running and big play ability. His notable play of the game came on a 38-yard catch and run, which featured his strong hands and ability to creat chunk yards after the catch. He finished the game with seven receptions on nine targets for 80 yards—all of which were team highs.

Play of the Game: Eric Ebron’s touchdown catch

The first-team offense was highlighted by this beautiful throw from Brissett to Ebron. Running a corner route with a defender draped all over him, Ebron continued his red-zone prowess with a wonderful throw by Brissett.
