Colts hosted LB Shane Ray on free agent visit

The Indianapolis Colts may have signed Justin Houston to a two-year deal to help solidify the pass rush, but that doesn’t mean they are done searching for help.

With the second wave of free agency well underway, the Colts hosted former Denver Broncos outside linebacker Shane Ray on a visit Friday, per multiple reports.

The news was first reported by Field Yates of ESPN and confirmed by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Ray, who turns 26 years old in May, was a first-round pick with the Broncos in the 2015 NFL Draft. He’s only had one season with more than 4.0 sacks and his last two seasons have had 1.0 sack each.

Ray might not be the pass rusher he was drafted to be, but the Colts seem to have at least some interest. Bringing him in on a one-year deal is something they might do.

The Colts still have a need to add to the pass rushing corps and while Ray might not be among the top options, this situation is something to keep an eye on.
