Collapsed cheese producer could be bought out of administration

Offers have been submitted to buy a cheese company that collapsed into administration two months ago.

GRH Food Company in Minffordd, Gwynedd, told its 86 strong workforce that the company was going into administration in June, with KPMG brought in.

Operations at the plant stopped and workers were made redundant.

KPMG now say that they are reviewing a number of offers for the business on Snowdonia Business Park.

Paul Dumbell, director at KPMG and joint administrator, said: “We have received significant interest from potential buyers in recent weeks and negotiations are ongoing. For completeness, we must also explore the option to sell the assets separately before making a final decision.

“Naturally, our preferred option remains to secure a suitable new owner for GRH and its assets as a whole.”

This week Business Live revealed the firm's multi-million pounds debt chain.

Their debts included £3.6m to other traders and £224,504 owed to employees. Around 130 companies have submitted claims to the administrator KPMG.
