Colin Spence admits his side need to start becoming more ruthless in front of goal.
The Irvine Meadow co-boss watched on as they threw away a 1-0 lead to West of Scotland League Premier Division relegation battlers Rossvale at Medda Park.
Michael Wardrope gave the North Ayrshire side a first half lead when he finished from the edge of the box just a minute before half-time.
And just after the hour mark Mark McLennan had the chance to seal three points – but he missed his penalty allowing the visitors to get back into it.
And that they did with goals in the 71st and 80th minute, meaning Medda were left empty-handed.
And Spence was disappointed with the result which follows on from draws with Hurlford and Blantyre that they also took the lead in.
He told the Irvine Herald: “I was bitterly disappointed with the result, but to be fair it doesn’t reflect the game.
“We played really well, it was a good performance, we were very dominant.
“We just have a wee problem finishing teams off when we are on top – that’s the last five league games we have taken the lead in and not managed to see it out and get a win.
“There’s a lot of good stuff from us, we have had a vast amount of possession and chances, but we just aren’t taking them. You need to take these chances, you need to bury teams when you are on top.
“It’s a hard one, because it’s an unacceptable result, but I come away not too disappointed with the performance, they did everything we asked.
“But the big turning point was missing the penalty with half an hour to go, if we score that we go 2-0 up.
“That was a setback, we didn’t react well to it because before it we didn’t look in any danger of dropping points to be honest.”
