Colin Kapernick’s attorney announces agreement to pending grievances with NFL

Stunning news out of the never-ending duel between Colin Kaepernick — Eric Reid — and the NFL.

The exiled quarterback’s attorney Mark Geragos tweeted a statement Kaepernick, Reid and the league have resolved their differences. The how and what of the understanding will remain confidential as explained in the statement.

If the details remain a mystery — this signals some kind of financial understanding — people will be curious for a long time.

The NFLPA released a statement:

Per ESPN.com:

Kaepernick filed a grievance in October 2017 under the collective bargaining agreement alleging collusion against signing him to an NFL contract.

The filing, which demanded an arbitration hearing on the matter, said the NFL and its owners “have colluded to deprive Mr. Kaepernick of employment rights in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick’s leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice and his bringing awareness to peculiar institutions still undermining racial equality in the United States.”

The news comes a day after AP reported Kaepernick was approached by the AAF but the league rebuffed him when he asked for $20 million.
