Coleen Rooney 'splashes out on luxury family trip' after Wagatha Christie victory

Coleen Rooney has jetted abroad following her landslide win during the High Court Wagatha Christie case, launched by Rebekah Vardy.

The wife of Wayne Rooney now famously accused Rebekah's Instagram account of leaking various stories to the British media – which Vardy claimed was defamatory.

Following Coleen's infamous post, Vardy launched a High Court legal case in a bid to clear her name but after a year-and-a-half-long feud, a judge ruled in favour of Rooney – leaving Rebekah red-faced.

It has since emerged that Rebekah has to pay £1.5 million towards Coleen's legal fees.

After winning the case, Coleen has swapped the chilling UK weather and headed out to the United Arab Emirates.

The Liverpudlian, 36, who recently returned to the media as she posed for a new fashion campaign is lapping up the sun at the five-star Mandarin Oriental Jumeira Hotel in Dubai.

Coleen, Wayne and their four children are said to be enjoying their holiday at the exclusive hotel in the United Arab Emirates, where the top room costs thousands each night, claims The Sun.

A source told the publication that Rooney is putting the money from Rebekah to "good use" – with the first instalment of £800,000 due next month.

They said: "Coleen's clearly decided to put it to good use and relax in style.

"Everyone knows she loves a holiday, sometimes she goes on a dozen a year, but this is something else.

"Think luxury at the very highest end, they've flown out first class, no expense has been spared," before adding the trip is "two fingers up to Becky".

The lavish hotel boasts several first-class eateries including a sprawling pool bar, as well as a Caviar bar.

On average, a standard room goes for around £169 per night, while their Two Bedroom Premier Sea View Suite goes for £9,200.

The Liverpudlian has singed an all access deal with Disney+ to share her side of the Wagatha story (INSTAGRAM)

Following her Wagatha victory, Coleen has signed an all-access contract with Disney+ to document her side of the most expensive defamation case.

The news was confirmed at the Edinburgh TV Festival by the director of unscripted content for Disney+, Sean Doyle.

A spokesperson for the streaming giant said: "The three-part series will take viewers from the circumstances that led to her infamous Instagram post that 'broke the Internet' all the way to Coleen being a successful defendant in one of the UK’s highest-profile High Court defamation cases brought against her by Rebekah Vardy.

"In a story for our times, Wagatha Christie will reveal how fiercely determined and resilient Coleen had to be in order to protect her family from the challenges presented by the traditional and social media landscapes."
