Coldplay have revealed the titles of songs from their forthcoming record in an unlikely place: local newspapers.
The band, fronted by Chris Martin, announced their new double album, Everyday Life, in a typewritten letter sent to fans in the post earlier this week. It was initially believed to be a hoax.
Continuing with the offbeat promotional trail, they’ve now taken out adverts in local papers around the world, starting with the North Wales Daily Post.
It revealed that Everyday Life will be separated into two parts, named Sunrise and Sunset.
Jonny Buckland, Coldplay’s lead guitarist, grew up in Flintshire and said on Twitter he once had a job at the Daily Post placing photos of houses for sale.
Coldplay also placed the advert in Devon’s Express And Echo newspaper. Frontman Chris Martin is from Exeter.
The advert has also been spotted in France, Australia and New Zealand.
Everyday Life will be Coldplay’s first album since 2015’s A Head Full Of Dreams. It’ll be released on 22 November.
