Cocaine and cannabis worth £20,000 seized from South Ayrshire property

Cocaine and cannabis worth £20,000 has been seized during a police raid in Ayrshire.

A man was arrested after cops swooped on the property in Girvan's Henrietta Street on Friday, June 11.

Officers from the Carrick locality policing team carried out the raid and a quantity of Class A and Class B controlled drugs, believed to be cocaine and cannabis, were seized from the house.

A three-figure sum of cash was also recovered by police.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested and will appear at Ayr Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Sergeant Ben Legge, who leads the Carrick locality policing team, said: “This operation shows the commitment of local officers to deal with community concerns about drug dealing.

“I would urge anyone who has information about those dealing drugs in the Carrick section or in South Ayrshire generally to contact us on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800555 111."
