A thug caged for torturing and slashing a teenager, and filming the ordeal, has been convicted of attacking a nurse on the same day.
Scott McClymont, 22, from Coatbridge was sentenced to an 18 months prison sentence for assaulting the female nurse at Glasgow Royal Infirmary on December 28 last year.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard how the thug jumped towards the nurse, forcing her into the corner of a cubicle by hitting her with his shoulder. He also assaulted a cop who tried to control him and behaved in a threatening or abusive manner.
He had been taken to the hospital’s A&E department and was being observed by the nurse when he demanded drugs, saying he was “going to go tonto”.
He was then placed in a police van but continued to cause a disturbance and tried to bite a cop.
Fiscal depute Mark Allan told the court: “At one point he struck the walls of the cell area with his head and was repeatedly spitting.
“He tried to bite PC Ross on the arm while he was trying to calm and remove him.”
Leon Kendol, defence agent, told the court: “Mr McClymont is embarrassed and remorseful for his conduct.”
McClymont had entered a guilty plea to the charges.
The latest custodial term is in addition to a six-year sentence he received at the High Court in Glasgow earlier this month, but they will run concurrently.
McClymont, 22, and accomplice George Murray, 33, turned on the teenage boy and a 23-year-old man at the latter victim’s flat in Glasgow’s Springburn area, on December 28 last year.
On that occasion police broke down the door of the flat after a neighbour reported blood seeping through the ceiling from above.
They found a blood-soaked scene with the pair still within the flat.
The pair pled guilty to attempting to murder a 23-year-old and assaulting the boy to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.
They recorded the attack on a mobile phone, which was crucially used as evidence with both victims
The horrifying nine-minute clip, showed both victims covered in blood and pleading for mercy as they were repeatedly hit with blades.
One attacker can be heard saying: “Dance for me, dance for me.”
The older victim was seen standing in the bath drenched in blood, while the teenager had his hood pulled up as he cowered while trying to avoid being repeatedly hit
They were sentenced earlier this month by Lord Mulholland at the High Court in Glasgow.
He said: “I have to say I have watched the most horrendous footage. You behaved like savages."
Murray was jailed for six years and eight months.
