Hemant Soren has damaged the tribals the most, says BJP national president J.P. Nadda in Ranchi

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president J.P. Nadda on Saturday slammed Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, alleging that corruption has increased in his regime. He also accused him of grabbing the land of tribals.

Mr. Nadda was addressing the concluding programme of the BJP’s Sankalp Yatra at Harmu Maidan in Ranchi. He also appealed to people to vote for the BJP. All the MLAs and MPs of the Jharkhand BJP were present on the stage.

Lashing out at Mr. Soren’s government, Mr. Nadda said that the BJP government serves the people but the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress serve themselves. He accused the Chief Minister of Jharkhand of being involved in corruption, alleging that he had purchased many lands on his and on the names of his relatives. He also said that Mr. Soren was skipping the summons of the Enforcement Directorate, because he had something to fear.

“Whenever I take the name of Hemant Soren, it reminds me that he sought votes in the name of tribals, and he is the same person who has damaged the rights of tribals the most. For the sake of vote bank politics, the government turns mute spectator on the issue of religious conversion. He can go to any extent for vote bank politics. This government is neck-deep in corruption and there is no respect for the women. This is the State where the ED is behind the Chief Minister, but he is running away,” Mr. Nadda said.

He also alleged that the liquor mafia, land mafia, and sand mafia are very active in Jharkhand, but next time Soren’s government will not return to power. Mr. Nadda pointed out that the only government which has done work to preserve the rich culture of the State and the tribes is the BJP.

Jharkhand BJP President Babulal Marandi and leader of the opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly Amar Kumar Bauri were also present on the stage. Mr. Marandi, a former CM of the State, has been on the Sankalp Yatra across Jharkhand for several days now.

Mr. Nadda said that temples are being demolished in Jharkhand but no action was being taken due to the politics of appeasement. He claimed when Mr. Marandi, Arjun Munda (now Union minister) and Raghubar Das (now Odisha Governor) were the Chief Ministers of Jharkhand, Naxal activities had under control. However, in Mr. Soren’s regime, they had become active once again. Mr. Nadda also said the police had become predators instead of being protectors.

Mr. Marandi claimed that whatever development had taken place in Jharkhand was under the BJP government. He appealed to party workers to go to the people with the resolve to make the State crime free, and to form the government under the leadership of Narendra Modi in 2024.
