Feb. 26--REPORTING FROM SACRAMENTO -- Before the Clippers had their shoot-around for Friday night's game against the Sacramento Kings, Chris Paul sat in a chair with black kinesio tape attached to his right forearm.
It was to support the forearm injury Paul sustained against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night. He also has a sore left calf and a bruised left thigh.
Through all the injuries and pain, Paul just pushes his body to keep competing.
He will play tonight against the Sacramento Kings because Paul doesn't know any other way.
"I just realize that don't nobody else cares," Paul said. "I'm being serious. I think we've got maybe nine or 10 guys [available] tonight. So you got to play through whatever it is."
The Clippers announced at shoot-around that Paul Pierce wasn't with the team for personal reasons.
So with Blake Griffin out recovering from a broken right hand, the Clippers were down to 11 bodies at practice.
Paul said it's not "mentally" challenging to play through his injuries.
"I'm one of those people who think damned near everything is mental," he said. He was "thinking that medicine is like placebos, that you can get through anything with mental toughness."
