The washing machine is an integral part of the home, and as important as the appliance is for keeping your clothes clean, it's just as vital for us to keep the appliance itself clean too.
And while it's easy to wipe down the rubber seal around the door after every wash so it doesn't start to go mouldy, one part of the appliance is a little trickier to clean - the dreaded drawer.
The drawer of a washing machine often comes with little nooks and crannies that are tough to reach, and with the part in constant use transporting detergent and fabric softener into the drum, it can quickly become grimy.
Thankfully, fans of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch have said there's a quick and easy way to get your washing machine drawer sparkling again - and you won't even need to scrub it.
Cleaning enthusiasts shared their tips on a Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips page on Facebook, where one woman shared pictures of her mouldy drawer and asked: "Drawer from the washing machine [has] never ever been as bad as this, [I] think laundry liquid is to blame. Tried elbow grease which hasn't worked. Any thoughts?"
And before long the woman was inundated with helpful replies from fellow cleaning fans, many of whom told her to try soaking the drawer in a mixture of hot water and white vinegar.
One person said: "I did mine last week. It's best to put it in hot water with just white vinegar, make sure it is fully covered and leave for about an hour. It was pure white when I took it out. The crusty soap scum and mould had disappeared."
While another added: "Soak the drawer in hot water and vinegar. After an hour or so all the mess will have washed off."
And a third wrote: "Soak in hot water with a bit of white vinegar, should be like new when you're finished."
Most people suggested you wouldn't need to scrub the drawer as they claimed simply soaking it would be enough to lift the mould and soap scum off.
But a few did state that if needed, you can use an old toothbrush to get into the hard-to-reach areas and scrub them clean if you find there's still some residue left behind.
White vinegar, also known as distilled vinegar, is known for its excellent cleaning properties and is hailed by many for being much more gentle than harsh chemicals like bleach, as well as being more affordable.
Asda and Tesco both sell bottles of distilled vinegar for just 29p each, while a bottle from Wilko is £1.25, and a spray bottle of pure white vinegar from B&Q will cost you £2.
Other suggestions for removing black mould and soap scum from washing machine drawers included using soda crystals, mould spray, and dishwasher tablets.
