Claudio Bravo pens classy farewell message to Man City fans

Claudio Bravo has thanked Manchester City fans for their support and treatment of his family as his four-year spell at the Etihad came to an end.

Bravo left City at the end of the season, having signed a short-term extension over the summer to continue playing in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League campaigns.

Now, he leaves for a new challenge, as City look to bring back Zack Steffen from loan to challenge Ederson for the goalkeeping spot at the Etihad.

Bravo joined City in 2016 as the number one choice, but an inconsistent season saw Ederson arrive the following summer and Bravo dropped to back-up.

Despite that, Bravo produced some important performances in the cup competitions, including in the 2018 and 2019 Community Shield victories. In that 2019 win, Bravo saved the crucial penalty in the shoot-out to see City win their seventh trophy in his time at the club.

In total, Bravo made 61 appearances for City and kept 20 clean sheets, with the club winning eight trophies in all.

And the Chilean, 37, took to social media after leaving City to thank everyone at the club, from players to kitchen staff, as well as the fans for their support over the last four years.

He wrote: "My four years with Manchester City have ended and I feel so proud and delighted to have worn the light blue shirt and being part of this great team.

"I am really happy to have contributed to the sporting achievements of the club which I am leaving with eight great titles. I would like to thank all the members of this club: players, coaching staff, medical staff, kitchen staff, ground staff, and of course the fans!

"As a family we are very happy and grateful, as we feel very fortunate for everything we experienced. We take away the best and fondest memories of the city, the club, and the fans, who welcomed and looked out for us over the four years.

"I will always carry you all in my heart and I will be supporting you from wherever I am in the world.

"A huge embrace for all the cityzens, Best wishes forever, Claudio Bravo."
