Police sealed off a road in Manchester city centre after a man was assaulted outside a bar in the early hours of this morning. Officers were called to Withy Grove at around 5.30am today (Saturday) after reports a man had been injured outside Roxy Ballroom on Withy Grove.
The road was taped off in both directions for several hours at the junction of Dantzic Street as police carried out their investigations. It reopened just after 10am. No further details about the nature of the attack or the man's injuries have been released at this stage but GMP said enquiries remain ongoing.

A number of bus services were diverted due to the road closure and passengers were advised to check with their operator before travelling.
In a post on Twitter, TfGM said earlier: "Withy Grove, Manchester City Centre - CLOSED in both directions at the junction of Dantzic St.
"This is due to an ongoing police incident. Bus services will be diverted, please check with your operator before travelling."
Bus company, Go North West said in a statement: "Diversions are in place from Shudehill on the #GNW2, #GNW67, #GNW67A, #GNW93, #GNW97, #GNW98 & #GNW100 due to a police incident on Withy grove.
"Services diverted via Miller street and Angel street Omitting Withy Grove, Corporation street and Victoria approach."
