Chuck Norris warns of '1,000 years of darkness' if Obama is re-elected

Chuck Norris is picking up where Clint Eastwood left off, with a dramatic declaration against Barack Obama's re-election campaign.

In a video released Monday, Norris and his wife, Gina, warn that the US will face "socialism or something much worse" if Obama is re-elected in November.

Speaking from inside what appears to be a karate studio, most of the video involves the Norris' quoting philosopher Edmund Burke and former US president Ronald Reagan in their plea to get evangelicals to the ballot box.

Quoting Reagan's 1964 A Time For Choosing speech, Gena Norris says:

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done.

The couple says that in the 2008 election, 30 million evangelical Christians stayed home on voting day, allowing Obama to win the election by 10m votes. To prevent that from happening again, they encourage evangelical voters to "unite for god and country" and vote this November.
