Christopher Jullien set for Celtic return as timeline revealed for Hoops defender after gruelling year out

Celtic are set to be handed a timely boost with the return of Christopher Jullien.

The Frenchman has been out for almost a year after suffering cruciate ligament damage against Dundee United in December 2020.

Jullien collided with the post at Celtic Park in the 3-0 win and has been out ever since - watching on as the Bhoys' season imploded under Neil Lennon.

It's been a long road back for the big defender, but, according to the Scottish Sun, Jullien could be back on the pitch for the Hoops by the end of the year.

New Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou has relied on the likes of Carl Starfelt and youngster Cameron Carter-Vickers and Stephen Welsh at centre-half since taking the Celts' reins.

So the experienced 28-year-old Jullien would be a brilliant option to call upon.

Yet to play under Postecoglou, the Sun say Jullien could even be back in green and white by the end of the month.

A return before December would be a massive fillip for the Hoops are they chase down Premiership leaders and Old Firm rivals Rangers as well as try to keep their European hopes alive.

Jullien is back in training at Lennoxtown and hopeful of featuring before the month is out.
