Christmas shopping tensions run high in ‘trolley rage’ and fight over Brussels sprouts reported

With Christmas less than 24 hours away, chaos is hitting stores as shoppers scrabble for last minute items.

As reported by DublinLive, frustrated customers at busy stores are sharing their frenzied shopping experience online.

Dunnes Stores in Blanchardstown has been particularly affected as footage emerged of massive queues snaking through the whole shopping centre.

A Twitter user wrote: “Thought I'd be clever and get to Dunnes Blanch at 8am this morning.... It was ******** bedlam.

“Oul ones fighting over Brussels Sprouts and queues for the tills blocking every aisle with trolley rage thrown in. I had to leave after 5 mins…”

Massive queues and having to wait hours is also being claimed by numerous shoppers.

“Let me tell you. Last minute Christmas shopping in Blanch is not a vibe. Hour and a half queue into Dunnes. Be nice to retail workers lads they're gonna be flat out,” someone shared on Twitter.

Another Twitter user claimed hundreds of people were in the shop.

“Greetings from Dunnes in Blanch, where an 8am start to do the big Christmas shop seemed like a great idea for at least 500 other people too,” they said.

Whilst some customers were not impressed with the festive shopping frenzy, some managed to see the humour in mayhem.

“My turkey has gone out of date while waiting in the till queue at Dunnes this morning,” a Twitter user joked.

Another added: “I survived the big Dunnes Christmas shop 2021”
