We're 87 days away from the most wonderful time of the year and early birds in Ireland have started their Christmas shopping in September.
Jingle bells are already ringing for one in seven people who began stocking up on presents to beat the usual shopping frenzy this month.
One in 20 people said all they wanted for Christmas is to skip the usual rush and admitted to having shopped for Christmas presents BEFORE September.
Nearly 23% said there's no such thing as kicking off the celebrations too early as one in 20 said they'll be decking the halls with boughs of holly before Halloween is here.
Over half of those surveyed said Santa Claus coming to town is "the highlight of their year", figures from Homesense reveal.
Putting up the tree topped the list as Ireland’s favourite festive tradition (55%), followed closely by decorating the house (52%).
And nearly half of the respondents said they want to be prepared ahead of time for the festivities as December is a busy month with 27% claiming to enjoy Christmas more if they have been planning it for a long time.
