Christmas dinners 'at risk' after lorry sheds Brussels sprouts load on Fife road

A lorry driver has had a festive fumble after hundreds of Brussels sprouts spilled out of his overturned vehicle in Fife.

Police were called to a roundabout at Admiralty Road in Rosyth after reports of the accident 10.45am today.

Officers closed the road for more than five hours as they worked to clear spilled load of Christmas favourites from the roundabout.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area until it reopened at around 3.55pm.

No one was injured in the crash, but there are now fears that some Christmas dinners could be in jeopardy as a result on the incident.

South West Fife Police tweeted: “There’s been a bit of a #Brusselsprouts accident at the roundabout at Admiralty Road, Rosyth. Please avoid the area if possible.

“Traffic and Christmas dinners may be affected. Apologies for any delays.”
