This Christmas, Liverpool is set to become more festive than ever when it welcomes The Spiegeltent for the first time.
Constructed from rich mahogany and stained glass windows, the festive big top will host a series of live events, Christmas parties and special occasions throughout the festive period.
Spiegeltents date back to Belgium in the 19th century and are often used as travelling dance halls, bars and bohemian entertainment salons.
The round tent will include bevel mirrors and a draped ceiling, and will be set up at the Cains Brewery Village.
From November 28, The Spiegeltent will host events including a family disco, circus skills disco, a baby disco and more.
The most highly anticipated events include White Mink: Electro Swing Speakeasy, Singin’ In The Rain and Liverpool ’s Big Drag Pageant.
White Mink will see visitors transported back to the days of swing and the speakeasy, where a fire dancer will perform above the crowd on an aerial hoop, live jazz music will be played and a huge party will ensue.
Visitors will also have the chance to see Hollywood classic Singin’ In The Rain like never before, in a one-night-only expanded cinema production which sees the production escape the screen and spill into the audience with live performers dancing and swinging among the crowd.
The Speigeltent will also play host to Liverpool Drag Pageant, where the city’s most fierce drag queens will show off their talents, skills and sass for judges Alison King, Eithne Browne, Tom Barrie and DJ Tracy Wilder to win the crown.
