Christina Applegate RETIRES from acting as she shares devastating health struggles

Christina Applegate has announced she has retired from on-screen acting after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

The actress, 51, is best known for her roles in Anchorman alongside Will Ferrell and Married With Children, but has revealed she won't step in front of the camera for another acting role.

However, she refused to let the decision get her down and she confessed her gratitude for the successful career she had and being able to work with Linda Cardellini again in her final role on Dead to Me.

"I’m probably not going to work on camera again," she admitted. "But I’m so glad that I went out with someone who is by far the greatest actress I’ve ever worked with in my entire life if not the greatest human I’ve ever known."

She made the revelation to Vanity Fair. Christina went on to discuss the impact her MS diagnosis is currently having on her life.

"With the disease of MS, it’s never a good day," she confessed before saying she took a lot of things in life for granted prior to her diagnosis.

"Going down the stairs, carrying things—you can’t do that anymore. It f***ing sucks," she said.

She first made the announcement about her health in 2021 as she told fans she has been diagnosed with a condition that causes the body's immune system to start attacking the nervous system.

In February she sent a clear message in what could be her final award show appearance after she took her daughter Sadie Grace LeNoble, 12, to the SAG Awards at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The actress carried a black cane to the event which had the letters "FU MS" written on the bottom.

Leaving it to everyone's imagination to determine what the four letters stood for, she was hell-bent on enjoying the bash with her peers, friends and family.

She also hit out at those who had been critical of her appearance of late, admitting she was "very aware" of changes to her look and mobility. She told how she had gained 40 pounds since her diagnosis.

Christina had previously taken to social media to tell fans and followers that she is finding her diagnosis "tough" but defiantly said she is confronting the challenging news head-on.
