Christian McCaffrey has more yards than the Jets this season

Christian McCaffrey is having a historically sensational season for a NFL running back. He’s currently on pace to break Chris Johnson’s record for the most yards from scrimmage in a single season. McCaffrey has also thrust himself into the MVP conversation despite playing on a 3-2 team.

It may be team success that mostly determines who wins that award, but McCaffrey is practically a team unto himself these days. Just ask the 0-4 Jets, who have produced only 718 total yards of offense this season. That’s 148 yards fewer than McCaffrey (866) this year.

There are a couple asterisks to mention here – most notably they have played one game less than McCaffrey and the Panthers thanks to an early bye. Their starting quarterback has also been out a month due to mono – which is one of the most Jets things to ever happen to the Jets in a long history of Jets things.

Nevertheless, the point is McCaffrey is demonstrating some legitimate MVP value and the Jets are basically the Tom Wambsgans of the NFL.
