Christian Eriksen breaks silence on future amid Manchester United transfer links

Christian Eriksen has revealed he has already received offers ahead of the summer amid reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The Danish international has made a huge impact in the Premier League since returning to action earlier in the year. Eriksen joined Brentford on a short-term deal back in January, having spent over half-a-year out following his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.

The 30-year-old had his contract at Inter Milan terminated back in December due to not being permitted to play in Serie A with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator. Having trained back in Denmark with one of his former clubs, he made his return to England, and has caught the eye ever since.

Eriksen has played a huge role in Brentford retaining their Premier League status, with the Bees going on an impressive run of form following his arrival. The Dane is under contract with the club until the end of the season, when he will once again become a free agent.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has expressed an interest in keeping Eriksen for next season, although they will face plenty of competition for his services. United are among the clubs said to be interested as they search for new midfielders, while a return to Tottenham has also been touted.

Eriksen has now broken his silence on his future, confirming clubs have already been in contact. “I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision,” Eriksen told Viaplay (via Football365).

“I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn’t essential for me.”

Since joining Brentford, Eriksen has won seven of the 10 Premier League games he’s been involved in, scoring once and adding four assists during that period. His preference for Champions League football though could draw him to a return to Tottenham, with Antonio Conte’s side still in the running for the top four heading into their final game of the season.
