Chris Moyles fails to show for work after Glastonbury - with Holly Willoughby also MIA

Chris Moyles didn't turn up for his Radio X show this morning just hours after he was spotted partying away at Glastonbury.

The station tweeted out a photo of the empty studio moments before the presenter was due to be sitting in the hot seat.

Instead he hosted the show from a caravan off-site from Worthy Farm, with co-hosts Pippa Taylor and Dominic Byrne taking care of things back in London.

He wasn't the only absent star name following the Somerset festival.

Holly Willoughby was missing from Monday's This Morning after a wild weekend of partying at Glastonbury.

He had to make other plans after the party went on (Radio X)

She was replaced by Josie Gibson who sat alongside Craig Doyle after the star booked in a day off.

Chris swung into action from near the event after sleeping off a long night, which ended with Sir Elton John's epic headline performance.

Pippa, who raced back home after, said: "I made it back because I’m a dedicated professional! I came back late last night, I had to miss out on a bit of Elton. I got back about half 12 in the morning."

Dominic added: "You made it back…Chris was at Glastonbury - he isn’t here."

Awkwardly, she responded: "No. He’s, as far as I’m aware, he’s still there. As is James."

Chris then found his voice, telling them: "Here’s the story, James [Robinson] was at Glastonbury on Thursday and we spoke to him on Friday do you remember? In his campervan…with all this equipment so he could be on the air. So I said to James “ I’m not coming in, I’m not there".

"So James said: “ I’ve got all this equipment” and I said “ stop showing off” and he said “ not like that, radio!” so he’s brought his campervan to where I’m staying."

Chris says he couldn't let the listeners down.

"We’ve plugged it in, and here we are!" he went on. "I’ve got my Elton John glasses. We’re parked up on the lawn, where I was staying for the weekend, because I was staying off site as they call it, slumming it."

Holly flew into Glastonbury on Friday via a helicopter as she appeared to be putting the Phillip Schofield drama behind her.

Fans have since taken to social media to share their confusion after being snapped partying at the legendary festival, with one writing: "Where's Holly? #ThisMorning."

Craig addressed Holly's absence, saying: "Now, Holly's off today, she'll be back tomorrow – we'll be here all morning."
