East Kilbride boss Stevie Aitken hopes to enter talks in the coming days aimed at keeping Chris Erskine at K-Park.
The 34-year-old was on loan at Partick Thistle last season but a hamstring injury ended his season early and he underwent surgery to fix it.
Firhill legend Erskine is working hard to get back for the start of the season and boss Aitken has been delighted with his progress.
Aitken said: "Chris Erskine is one we want to get tied up soon, he's one we want to keep.
"He picked up an injury at Partick Thistle and is focused on getting back in, he's training just about every day.

"Chris won't be ready for the start of the season, or pre-season, but he's not far away, so we're hoping to sit down with him next week and try to get him tied up.
"Then we'll focus on new players and there is a lot to come in."
Aitken says he wants "three or four" new players in as he rebuilds for a title tilt in the Lowland League.
He said: "It's ongoing, we're hopeful that another three or four will come in.
"We've got about 13 players at the moment, so we want to get another three or four in, we're working hard, and hopefully by the time we start back training next Tuesday we'll have another couple on board.
"We're looking forward to getting back and it can't come quickly enough."
