Chris Brown has announced first solo UK tour in twelve years, with three dates in London due to high demand, as well as shows in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Dublin.

The Under The Influence tour features 14 dates, with shows scheduled in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France as part of the stretch. Brown will be joined on tour by special guest Skillibeng.

Chris Brown announced the arena dates via Instagram, with fans immediately speculating on ticket release.

The singer has released six studio albums since his last tour in the UK, with his latest album Breezy picking up a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album and producing singles Iffy, WE (Warm Embrace) and Call Me Every Day.

The announcement may receive a mixed response from the public following a string of controversies Brown has been linked to, including the 2009 assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna that resulted in him being banned from the UK by the Home Office in 2010.

He was also booed at the American Music Awards last month after winning the best male R&B artist award, although he was not in attendance.

Singer Kelly Rowland accepted the award on Chris Brown’s behalf and was forced to tell the crowd to “chill out” following the overwhelmingly negative reaction.

Brown was scheduled to perform a Michael Jackson medley at the American Music Awards in tribute to the late singer, but the performance was cancelled last minute, which even took Brown by surprise.

He posted a video of his rehearsal on Instagram and captioned it “U serious?” – later adding in the comments "Would’ve been the [biggest] AMA performance but they cancelled me for reasons unknown,"

Response to the R&B legend has been more positive in the UK, with the singer scooping a string of top 10 hits, including the UK No.1 Freaky Friday.
