Chris and Rosie Ramsey one of TV's most lucrative couples after raking in £2m in a year

Jokey lovebirds Chris and Rosie Ramsey are laughing all the way to the bank...they’ve earned £2million in a year.

The comedy Mr and Mrs have been coining it in thanks to their telly and touring projects.

Latest accounts show Chris’ firm Offermation pulled in £1.67million for the year ending November 2021.

This was up from £763,000 the previous financial year.

And Rosie’s company Thistle Dee pulled in £247,000 – up from £91,000.

It makes them one of TV’s most lucrative couples and they join the ranks of star husband and wife duos like Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly, 53, and Vernon Kay, 48.

Tynesiders Chris and Rosie, who have two children, found fame after launching their podcast about family life – Sh*gged. Married. Annoyed – in 2019.

Since then it has turned into one of the UK’s biggest podcasts with over 100 million downloads and they have also toured with their funny, down-to-earth and honest take on the world.

Last year the couple from South Shields bagged their own BBC2 programme, The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show, which returns for a second series next year.

The accounts are yet more good news for Rosie, who is following in the footsteps of her comedian hubby and joining Strictly.

She is one of six celebrities taking part in the Christmas special. Rosie, 35, and pro dancer Neil Jones, 40, have been practising their fancy footwork.

A television source said: “The BBC love them both and hope Rosie’s appearance on Strictly’s Christmas special will pave the way for other projects for TV’s newest golden couple.”

To mark the end of the latest run, a one-off special will be shown on Christmas Day and is set to be recorded on December 7.

This year six new celebrities include Gavin and Stacey favourite Larry Lamb, 75, Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts, 37, Coronation Street actress Alexandra Mardell, 29, Radio 1’s Rickie Haywood-Williams, 42, and CBeebies presenter George Webster, 21.

Last year Chris and Rosie – who have sons Robin, six, and Rafe, one – left their home town to live in a £1.5million six-bedroom home in a Northumberland village, featuring a huge garden, a library and stunning countryside views.

The couple were childhood sweethearts, having originally met as teenagers before attending the same college.

After going their separate ways, in 2012 the pair got chatting again when they bumped into each other at a local nightclub. They married in 2014.
