Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson went on a ride along with the Blue Angels

The Blue Angels are in Kansas City ahead of the July 6-7 air show celebrating the holiday weekend. One lucky Chiefs player is getting a chance to go on a ride along with the Blue Angels today.

The Blue Angels are a flight exhibition team that was created back in the 1940s. The goal of assembling the Blue Angels was to raise the public’s interest in naval aviation and to create interest for folks considering joining the Navy. It also served as a way to boost morale for the those already in the Navy. The group continues to this day as a way to showcase the everything that makes the Navy great.

The player joining the Blue Angels for a ride along today is Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson. Brooke Pryor of the Kansas City Star captured video below of the Blue Angels preparing Robinson for G-force with a special breathing technique:

Here’s a look at the plane he’s flying in courtesy of KMBC’s Karen Kornacki:

Robinson is stylish no matter the situation.

There he goes!

Tyreek Hill may be the fastest Chiefs player on land, but Robinson now is the fastest Chiefs player via air.

One of the primary missions of the Blue Angels is to do public relations work for the Navy and the Marines. Robinson is likely taking a ride with the Blue Angels as part of their key influencer program. Key influencers are described as people who, “shape attitudes and opinions of youth in their communities.”

Most anyone can be nominated as an influencer, so long as they have a strong influence in their community. So if you know anyone that is deserving of a nomination, be sure to submit that form to the Blue Angels before the next time they’re in town.
