The Kansas City Chiefs have announced an initial wave of practice squad signings, with 14 players officially locked up.
We have been tracking reported practice squad signings at Chiefs Wire, but here are the players who’ve officially been signed by the team as of now:

The two signings we hadn’t yet heard about were LB Elijah Lee and RB/WR Jerrion Ealy. There is also TE Kendall Blanton, who has been reported to have signed to the practice squad, but he hasn’t been formally announced by the team yet. They’re probably finalizing some details and getting him in the building before they announce that one. Update: That’s exactly what’s happening with Blanton. KC Star beat writer Herbie Teope reports that Blanton will fly into Kansas City tonight and should he pass his physical, he’ll sign with the team.

13 of the 14 signings announced by the team were players who were on the offseason roster this past year. Reiter, Fountain, Stallworth, Lee and Shelton are five players who should count against the team’s six-man limit on players with unlimited accrued seasons.
We’ll see how long Lee’s stay on the practice squad lasts. This could wind up being a temporary move while the team creates roster space by placing Blake Bell on injured reserve. Lee was reported to be coming back to the 53-man roster after Bell’s move to injured reserve occurred. That transaction will occur at 3:00 p.m. CT today.
