Chiefs' Jamaal Charles will see orthopedic surgeon James Andrews again on Monday

INDIANAPOLIS _ Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will see orthopedic surgeon James Andrews on Monday to have his surgically repaired right knee looked at once again.

Coach Andy Reid said the Chiefs are being as cautious as they possibly can with Charles, who missed Sunday's game and only played two snaps the previous week after a two-game stint in which he was active.

"We just can't get that thing to where it needs to be for him to play," Reid said.

For the season, Charles, 29, has logged 12 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown. He originally tore his anterior cruciate ligament over a year ago, in the Chiefs' Oct. 11, 2015 loss to the Chicago Bears.
