I expect to be in line early Sunday morning for the traditional reopening of Braidwood Lake at 6 a.m. on March 1. Like many others, probably thousands of others with the nice forecast, I have much anticipation. I am also curious to do a story of fishing with some new people, instead of doing my usual opening day of shore fishing.
The weekend’s other big draw is the Salmon Unlimited Swap Meet. It opens at 7 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at the River Park Moose Lodge in River Grove.
Canceled. The Chicago Dive & Travel Expo, which I had hoped to attend for years and never have, is this weekend, Feb. 29-March 1, at the Chicago Marriott O’Hare.
The first of three Lake Michigan fisheries workshops by the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant is on Wednesday, March 4, at the Michigan City (Ind.) City Hall from 6-8:30 p.m.
